I loved the rain on a late summer afternoon when I'd be in the safety of the tin-roofed, screened-in porch of the log cabin that my buddies and I used to frequent as teenagers and as young adults.

Memories, ahh!

I hope to soon recreate that scenario, although the company will be limited to my wife and hopefully, new puppy.

It sounds good to me.

Otherwise, my suburban experiences with rain over the last 35 years have been just that, suburban.

My miniature schnauzer, Max, died last year, but we also had our just-grown son's huge Golden/Great Pyrenees mix with us.
Watching those two having fun with each other was a blast to watch before Max got sick.
Anyway, my son moved out a few weeks ago and now our house is finally dogless.

I miss Max hard again, now.

That'll go away soon, though.

Yeah, I can't be without a dog.

As far as Max is concerned, my son picked him out when he was a kid.
I tried talking him out of a yappy little terrier, but my son had to have him.
I always have had hunting dogs, myself.
Well, Max ended up being my dog, and he shares a place with my first dog as a kid as being the best two dogs I've ever had.
Yeah, Max was cool.

I'd send you the entire episode if I could, but there's a synopsis of it in the first couple of minutes of this video.
Maybe you've never seen it before, or maybe it's not your thing.
It gets me right in the chest every time I watch the episode.

On a side note - I've been looking for somebody to help me go fishing, as you well know.
Well, I talked to an old friend today, who's now in his 70s and has COPD pretty bad, with not much time left.
Throughout the conversation, he kept asking me if I still have the "fishing ponds" in my subdivision, which are, of course, still there.
I finally realized that he is wanting to go fishing, and I asked him if he would like to visit, and we could fish together.
He sounded thrilled to have a friend to just do some "subdivision pond" fishing with.
So, there you go.
It's not exactly what I wanted, but I do believe that my friend "needs" to go fishing before his time runs out.
I'll still have my opportunities.

Summer rains are so soothing. Especially at night. Raining at night with a strong storm and you are listening to music or go on a long drive. Or eating ice cream or having tea with your partner.

I love the rain! I sleep so much better at night when on days when it's rained, and if it's raining at night, I sleep better than I've ever. I have really bad axiety, a severe panic disorder, acute anxiety, and a social anxiety disorder and listening to the rain helps me. There's a song I like by Reel people called the rain too that relaxes me!

Not very much. Only time I like it is when it's hot outside and it rains while the sun is still shining. And then you get a beautiful rainbow afterwards to wow at.
