In my teens my dad's friend used to take the two of us up in his Piper Tri Pacer. I sat in the right seat and my dad sat in back. The guy taught me a few maneuvers, as well as take offs and landings. One time, he let me sit in the left seat and shoot touch and goes.

I've been up in private planes quite a few times, both single and twin engine.

Of course I've flown on commercial airliners.

In my early 40s, a friend flew me out to the Mojave Airport where he kept his jet. He had a test pilot from Edwards AFB take me up and do some crazy shit. He let me take the controls and do a few rolls, too.
It was one of these:

A couple years ago for my birthday, my wife surprised me with a ride on a two seat, open cockpit, bi-wing airplane in which the pilot did aerobatics. That was one of my bucket list items.

I picked blimp as a stand in for a airship.
I'd love a world where you could fly thousands of solar powered airships from continent to continent.
The airship technology is starting to get to a point where it's actually competitive again in some ways.
(Especially for cargo)
