How long do smartphones last before they die?

some die right after end of warranty. some just never do. i mean the battery is gonna be completely dead after like a decade or so but the phone still works. so I don't know. never had a phone kick the bucket "naturally". there was always some defect that does not normally occur.

i would say tho that the end of software updates and compatibility to apps ends the lifespan of a smartphone way before it's technical demise.

My wife had a Galaxy for 7 years. We had to trade it in because I could no longer do upgrades on the OS and there were apps that would not run on it.
