If my credit score is bad but I have a roommate will that help?

My roommates credit score is decent and our combined income is about 6 times the rent. However we need to move asap and I don’t have time to fix my score before the big move.

When I say bad I mean it’s 510 but hers is not as bad as mine. The rent isn’t much and we have the money for the deposit and the first months rent and can move in right away. The only issue is worrying if I will be approved

I want will it help us get approved for the apartment we applied to lol. Not if it will improve my score. Sorry for the comfusion

It could help if your roommate can cover the rent on their income alone. If I were them and were able, I would just sign the lease myself and let you be the roommate. Then if you can't pay your half, you are out.

Having a roommate isn't going to directly impact your score, but it will help you pay off debt and such, which will improve your score in the longer term.
