When I was a kid, when the streetlights some on, it means it's time to go home. But our streetlights looked more like this...

It's called, a street light. They've been around for possibly a couple hundred years and are still used to this day. If you new schoolers don't know that, there's something VERY wrong!
When I was young, seeing this light meant that I had somehow ended up in town. I wouldโve been eager to get back to the country.
Keep my ears open for tha calling train - knew at some time my name would be yelled by someone's parents and I got told to go home.
For me it meant it was getting late and I had to go inside
It's means "sh*t , I'm supposed to be home for dinner"

I pay ameren every month to keep the one at my house going, looks just like the one in photo. I guess street lights are a thing of the past an individual now has to pay for every month :/
