So I work the afternoon/midnight shift because I close in a restaurant I don’t always get home at the same time because we don’t have a last call and it’s unpredictable when I will get done as I don’t finish cleaning things depending on when the last order has been taken and sometimes we are also given specific deep cleaning tasks at random. I come home anywhere between 11:30pm -2:30am but I’m not physically tired until 3am-5am (as I take this as my down time) and I normally wake up at 11am-12pm then back to work at 4pm. But the person I live with isn’t happy with the time I wake up and would rather I wake up earlier and have a normal schedule like a normal human being. So what should I do?
first of all, each person has a different biological "bedtime", and having everyone wake up in the morning is a thing we invented in the 1900s so dont worry about it. if you get tired at 3 am then go to sleep at 3 am. if the person you live with is your partner and they ask you to make time to be with each other then its your choice, but you don't have to be the only one to make an adjustment (just because they are live "in normal person hours"). if they are just some kind of roomate then they should deal with it. this is your lively hood and way of life.
i work night shifts, and end up waking up at 4 pm and going to sleep at 8 or 9 am. if i want to make plans with someone then i adjust my scheduke maybe by an hour or two, but otherwise i schdule everything in a way that is comfortable for me. errands and friends in the afternoon, chatting with the roomate in the morning. the only changes you need to do is if YOU want to do something and the schedule isn't allowing that.
just 1 advice, try and possition you work so that you have enough time before it to do anything you want and not make the whole day about work (so its not the '2 hrs before work' but the '4 hrs after waking up')
or else your days will dissapear

Tell them you work 2nd shift. I think that you should go to sleep around 4am and get up at noon.
Ignore the person telling you to wake up earlier. You have a valid reason for sleeping in.
