I don't really remember my 30th birthday. I was busy having kids and working all the time and still running marathons. I really wish I paid more attention.
You should do something special for yourself. Go on a helicopter ride or white water rafting. Treat yourself to a nice dinner. You deserve this.

  Go for a plane ride. Just do something to make a special day. I am at the age where I have all the material things I need. I keep hinting about a white water rafting trip but so far nobody has figured it out

no beaches though. Either something historical or a series of museums in nearby states. Maybe find a historical theme and visit numerous associated sites.
