Do homes where they ask everyone (including guests) to remove their shoes before entering usually stink more while the people are there?

I never understood the point of that! Especially since, the one time it happened to me, I'd been wearing shoes that get smelly within a week or two of my wearing them! The one's I've got now, I've been wearing every day for the past 6 years and, even wore them without socks a few times and they STILL don't stink! Okay, I get that you don't want the outside dirt tracked into your house but, that's what door mats are for!!
I saw some comedy skit, once, where someone had JUST installed a white carpet on their floor so, they asked a visiting guest to take off their shoes to better feel how nice the carpet was (I think it was on, "Make Room For Daddy") so, the guy took off his shoes and started walking across the carpet and left huge black foot prints all over the carpet!!

Because most people wash their socks and feet…plus the bottoms of your shoes have been touching lord knows what outside. It’s gross to walk all of that throughout the house.

@AmourHoney But, it's okay to let the dog walk around barefoot outside and bring who knows what into the house? And it's perfectly fine for the cat to play with its own shit and walk in its own piss and then climb all over the kitchen counters?
The inside of peoples' shoes are probably loaded with germs because they tend to breed in damp, dark, potentially smelly places and you'd rather have THAT on your rugs? Any time you go bowling and you return the shoes you wore to the counter, they spray the insides with Lysol for just that reason!
We always wore shoes in the house unless any of us decided to go barefoot and I spent LOADS of time laying on the floor to watch t. v., do homework, read or listen to records and none of us EVER caught anything from laying on the floor!

I don’t own a dog so no and I have never let my cat on the counters so also no, if she does get up there then i immediately wipe them down with antibacterial sprays lmao.

And when I did own dogs their paws would be wiped down. A lot of people wipe over their dogs paws after walks.

My ex-sister's a nut case, too. She won't use hand towels or bar soap because of the germs they supposedly have, but she lets the cat up on the kitchen counters and the table and she lets the dog eat off the dinner plates and lick her face!

I don't think so. Everyone takes off their shoes at my house. Only place that smells is the shoe closet

OMG -- I had this happen to me when I went to a couple's home to give them a quote on having some work done. They had this old, dirty, nasty carpet on the floor, and it wasn't even raining or anything. However, when the guy answered the door, he immediately asked me to take my shoes off, and since it was the middle of the summer, yes, I was sweaty, and while I was taking my measurements and preparing the quote, he was spraying Lysol everywhere, and when another couple arrived, he kept saying, 'I'm sorry... im sorry', but he was the one who caused the problem to begin with.

No because the shoes are all in the entryway or foyer, so the house floor is typically much cleaner.

If someone's feet stink that bad, I'll probably make em shower and wash off their feet. But I've never had that happen.
