What would you put in a Care package?

When someone you love is going through a tough stretch, it isn’t always feasible to show up at their doorstep with homemade food and a hug.

I’ve never heard of care package before, the first thing that comes to me is the package we send to loved ones or bring them if they are in hospital but I guess that’s not the case,

depending on the circumstances she’s in, I’d send her something that would cheer them up and provide at least tiny emotional relief to them, along with that I’d send something I think I’d need in that situation if I was in their shoes and also I’d send something I know they love.

I'd try to create a recipe that was both to her liking, and something that is available where she is with her ingredients and skill level, ideally with a time that I'd be making it too, so we could remotely "have dinner together." Something that she cannot easily access, and something that ties back to me somehow.

I was in another city working and my girlfriend was having a long/lousy day and I sent a food order to her when she got home. She loved it. Didn't have to worry about putting dinner together on top of her busy day. It actually improved her mood.

I had a relative that was having a rough stretch. I sent him a hundred dollar gift certificate for a local supermarket. He always enters contests of radio stations and other contests. He assumed that he finally won something

Big bowl of homemade chili and homemade or Italian bread, garden salad, dry jello dessert

A little house plant, some flowers, chocolates, coloring book and colored pencils, a good book. It really depends on the individual, of course.
