What would you put in a TIME CAPSULE?

In olden days, people would put a newspaper, some coins and postage stamps, some letters, and maybe some pictures, in a time capsule to be opened 50 years later. When the time capsule would be opened, people could get a feel for what life was like years earlier.

In today's digital world, what would you put in a time capsule for people to open in 2072?

I’d put photos…. lots of them!! Photos of people and places but also of our technology. I wouldn’t put the tech itself bc who knows they’d be able to power on our outdated devices. Their power sources and charging capabilities may be far superior to our present day ones.


I’d write a list of great musicians and people who should never be forgotten.


Why not add a few books…. or at least the complete works of Poe.



I’d also put in a few of my favorite recipes incase they lived off more processed or dehydrated food and wanted a healthy wholesome meal!!


The last thing I’d include in my time capsule would be seeds. Everyone believes seeds expires in just a few years. However, if they are sealed properly they could last for centuries and still germinate. I don’t know what the state of the planet will be in 50 years, but it couldn’t hurt to have access to more fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers.

Where do all the charger go? Why do we have to choose between having kids or having chargers? Haha. I finally ordered a bulk of 10 fast charge apple chargers. That should hold us over for a few months!!!

They each have their own, multiples of their own…. sometimes they need to charge their iPhones and iPads at the same time…. so they can FaceTime a friend or cousin and not really talk at all while they sit and play Roblox together. I get it…but then the ones beside my bed disappear. Is that why they are never hungry at dinner time? Lol

I hear that! Wide spread devastation!!! Sometimes I’m an evil person and I make them use their IMAGINATIONS instead of any tech that night. They look at me as if I just said a curse word. No tablets or phones at all? Not even an hour like usual (or three if I just need the peace and quite!).

Some everyday plastic stuff like bags, straws, cotton buds to show how much we used plastic in everyday life.

A disposable vape to show how wasteful we are with batteries despite the climate crisis.

An old phone with a load of current day music, photos and videos on it, plus screen recordings showing what Twitter, Tik Tok and Insta were like.

Maybe an old journal in case I end up famous.

A paper wallet with 100 dogecoin on it and a note of how much it's currently worth.

A packet of cigarettes.

A copy of 1984 with notes on what parts came true.

A copy of The Zombie Survival Guide to either confuse people or help save a life in the future.

An empty box with "DANGER - DO NOT OPEN" written on it.

An imortant thing to remember is that the technology to use our digital devices may be so obsolete that it is not available in 2072. E. g., thumb drives, USB ports, etc. may not still exist and. jpg and. mp4 files may also be a relic of the past.

I would include a few items of current clothing, a photo of my vehicle, photos of current street scenes in my hometown, a menu from a few restaurants, and printouts of a few news stories.

- fresh chicken eggs

- a fish with no plastic in it

- home grown bananas

- the local bus schedule

- a pencil

- a conserved honey bee

- my spare motorbike key

I'd compile a video and upload it onto a cheap smartphone or tablet with a charger or battery pack, and put that in the time capsule. The video would be a highlight of The Age of Stupid. 2001 to the present. Every retarded thing in Western and international society, from Woke Culture and BLM, to Arab Spring and the Russia-Ukraine War. From made-up pronouns and identities like "non binary," to COVID vax mandates and the Useful Idiots doing Fauci and Pfizer's dirty work in the name of virtue signaling.

This would be a 30 to 60 minute long complication of the Age of Stupid. I'd warn future generations to NOT make the same mistakes the morons of my day and age did, and tell them to put critical thinking, independent thought, logic, and compassion above all else. That is, if the world isn't too far gone to be saved by then.

Movies, music, shows, something about NFTs and cryptocurrencies, and all of the stuff you listed. Those things haven’t gone away and they’re still indicators of the era. You could also save some popular websites and social media on a USB drive, i suppose.

I think the classics like photos, maps, newspapers etc still have a place because there not always easy to find online and it's more personal in one place.
