+1 yTraditional. What the hell do I want with an "independent" woman?
Independent of what? Oh, that's right, of me, of men.
Go make work your life, go live your casual sex life, be argumentative, masculine, look down on marriage or taking care of your man, go send your kids to daycare because your job is more important.
No thanks.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 ySee here's the problem. Most women that claim to be independent really aren't most are actually quite needy. They're just very combative so they call themselves independent😆.
If a woman is truly independent I have no problem with it. I think the world is too complex for most partnerships to work with a woman who's "traditional". Very few families can flourish off of just 1 income today. If they can, more power to them I say. But most require both partners to work. And regardless no partnership can survive indefinitely without mutual respect.
So I think this whole independent vs. Traditional debate is largely obsolete and pointless.

+1 yI'm traditional and independent at the same time. I have a successful career and a high paying job but I also have a husband to whom I cook every single day including weekends, I keep the house tidy for us and we share traditional values when it comes to raising our children.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yIt depends what you mean by independent. I have a job, a car, an appartment and I can take care of myslef just fine. But I tend to be more traditional in my relationships.

A woman can be both... the two aren't mutually exclusive. I did the whole stay at home mom/housewife raising the kids, running errands, and cooking and cleaning for years. My partners pay for everything. But, I also invest and make my own money, go on my own vacations, and have my own home. Essentially, I do what I want. I'm not dependent and don't need permission, but I get the perks of a trad wife.

Asker+1 ySo you can do both, interesting, is there one you prefer?

No, I've been fully independent and it's boring, stressful, hard work, and just not worth the effort. Being dependent is great until they have to go away or something, then you've gotten too used to it and are weak without them and struggle to do things all on your own again. It's not worth trying to climb your way back to independence again on your own. Independence is like a muscle that needs to be worked out regularly or it gets weak. It's much better to have a bit of both.
For example, I was very independent until I got married. Then, I became very dependent on my husband. But, he kept having medical issues like appendicitis and then cancer. Then, the military moved him away from me for awhile. I had to face the fact that I needed to be able to care for him if something happened and do everything on my own when he can't be here to do it all. I don't want to, but I have to have that capability always.
Asker+1 yThat's completely understandable, sorry about the husband, I hope everything is good now, I see where your opinion is coming from, it is indeed good to have a bit of both for situations like this.
2.9K opinions shared on Other topic. Independent. I only dated women who could take care of themselves. I didn't want a leech. I also respect a woman who is bright, talented, hard working, and has a mind of her own, but is also feminine, fun, romantic, heterosexual, orgasmic, and loves sex.
I never needed someone to clean my house, do my laundry and make me sandwiches.20 Reply- 9.5K opinions shared on Other topic.

Neither really. I guess between the two I would go with independent, but I would rather she not be completely independent. That might make me feel like her relationship with me doesn't have much value. I like to feel valued.

911 opinions shared on Other topic. A trad woman is easier to get along with. As a general rule as she is more focused on family.

I wish I could remember the movie but the mom calls a family meeting. The husband groans and the kids roll their eyes at each other and the mom gives them Power Point presentation on why the are all little shits for missing their performance target
Everything is a negotiation to a professional woman whilst trad woman are more manipulative.
Negotiations shit me more so I prefer the trad woman approach. It is not a perfect world as a friend mournfully says.
+1 yI'm definitely independent. Not sure if by choice or circumstances but it's where I stand now.

Asker+1 yNah I'm kinda with the idea of a traditional woman lol
Asker+1 yWell aren't you just sour and full of assumptions for absolutely no reason what so ever, pathetic lol
Asker+1 yYou mean a nerve? And nah I love checking people that have no clue what they are talking about 😂
Asker+1 yI don't get it, your response is completely irrevelent to the conversation, there's only one dumbass in this conversation and I can assure you it ain't me 😂
Asker+1 yWell you started the conversation, I'm ending it, it has nothing to do with being controlling, it's called a reply, you send a message, I send one back, quite simple really, you initiate a passive aggressive conversation and expect no response? That's quite a lack of common sense you have there.
Asker+1 yI'm sure I've made that pretty clear, you lack brain cells
Asker+1 yHow's so?
Asker+1 yNo I just respond when someone sends me a message, you thinking way too deep about it 😂
Asker+1 yI'm not controlling, I'm just defending myself when it comes to your ignorance and false accusations/assumptions, has nothing to do with controlling the convo or whatever, if you talk shit, I have the rights to talk shit back and I'm using those rights, most people would defend themselves, that's why arguments exist, so now everyone is controlling? That's some pea brain logic
Asker+1 yThen that would mean you are also controlling cause you refuse to let go of the conversation as well, it would also make you a hypocrite, so which is it going to be? You are either a hypocritical controlling bastard that can't let go of a conversation or you are wrong about the definition of controlling that you are trying to push here, no matter the result your ignorance betrays you
Asker+1 ySo this whole time you were just reflecting your controlling problems onto me, understood
Asker+1 yWell today you were wrong, just cause you are controlling doesn't mean i am, rubbing it onto others isn't the best way to deal with your insecurities.
Asker+1 yCause it's my post you buffoon 😂
Asker+1 ySeveral reasons, for starters I believe children should have their mother while the father puts food on the table and the roof over their heads, I also believe a mother should be motherly without having to worry about having to put the food on the table and pay the bills, it doesn't mean she can't have money or make her own money but I don't want the kids with babysitters when their mother can be there, I believe it's healthier that way.
Asker+1 yMy masculinity bro, you can put on a dress and clean the house and take care of the kids if you want, no judgment here but personally id like to keep my dignity and I think it's a man's role to be the one that takes care of all the main problems and that puts in the blood and sweat for his family.

That’s a very sad and antiquated opinion. But fine. Again sounds like you want control over your wife. Financially, physically etc. Easy to do if they stay home and are dependent on your paycheck.
I can offer my experience with an independent woman. Much better conversations. What do you imagine your relationship to be like? “Honey I’m home.” “Oh I cleaned the house again!” Yea… boring.
Asker+1 yBelieve what you want, that's kinda your problem
Asker+1 yI still plan on having a life with her
Asker+1 yI don't see it as a brainwash, men are the stronger vessels in society, it's only natural for them to have the hardest roles in society, they have other important roles that works the whole cycle, I don't believe yours is a brainwash either, at the end of the day it all falls down to preferences, we just prefer different things
Asker+1 yWhat way are you looking at this? You are looking at it in some twisted dictator way, a traditional woman is traditional cause she prefers it that way, I'm not forcing independent women to be traditional, where are you getting at with this?
Asker+1 yBruh why you trying so hard to create dirt here, you are seeking for what's simply not there lmao
Asker+1 yYou really out here pulling all these assumptions out of your ass aren't you 😂
Asker+1 yWhat are you on bro 😂
Asker+1 yYour nose all up in that crack ain't it 😂
only thing i like about independent womans are they having an income too, nothing else.
