Why do a lot of guys/people nowadays ask for your Instagram handle?

Am I the only one, who finds this a turn-off? Makes me think they're just looking for followers. Secondly, it's a bit intrusive, as there's a lot of personal information attached to it (full name, profession, social circle etc.). I don’t know you I don’t want to share my Instagram with strangers.

yeah whenever someone asks for that they likely just want to see what you're about without actually talking or putting in any effort. and if they don't like what they see, they can easily unfollow or not continue to talk to you. like if they actually wanted to talk to you and get to know you they'd ask for your number

Yeah, asking for one's instagram striaght away without getting to know you is a red flag. Most of the time they have no intention of actually dating you. One time I followed a guy and the conversation died immediately. I unfollowed. Never again. I have no time for wannabe celebs or whatever

You’re definitely not the only one who finds it to be a turn-off. I feel the same way about guys asking me for my snap, instagram, Facebook etc.. we’re not in highschool anymore, ask me for my number like an adult.

I cringe and laugh at those people. Just like people that ask for your WhatsApp or Snapchat. It is really sad that life has come to this with some people.

I hardly use IG , Id prefer they ask for Whattsapp ..
Had a corporate ask for IG , was like WTF? You kidding.
