They're most likely good with kids in that sense. But it doesn't mean they'll make a good parent. Because they get to completely drop the responsibility of caring for the kid when the job is over and can do whatever they want. Being a parent is a full time job and comes with a lot more permanent responsibilities.

Babysitting, unfortunately, doesn't cover much from parenting, so it doesn't really mean anything.

Parenting is a long-term commitment on many levels, mainly emotional and financial. Add to it raising your kids, teaching them everything they should know and bearing consequences until your kid is 18 years old...

Babysitting is short-term, with no finances involved, no responsibility involved...

Yes, if you like kids, it gives you one additional point, but believe me, hormones make you at least like your baby and in most cases, you just love them unconditionally :D

however... it is much easier to be patient with a child for a couple of hours, a true test on the patience starts when you already ran out of patience, and you still have to be with these kids for 18 more years at least... lol

Pretty on point with this. The responsibilities that comes with this job.
I kinda “raised” my little sister since she is 11 years younger than me.
looking back, I was probably not very good at it…but I sure learned a lot…also being trained as a teacher helps a lot with with raising my own kids.

I had that thought of being a principal when I was in my 30s.
The system have changed a lot…. i see the work load my assistant principal and principal have to scarified to do…I changed my mind.
I do have other goals in mind that I will do when I retire from teaching.
One would still involve kids. I want to volunteer once a week to read to kids.
Kids are beautiful and I love them deeply regardless if they are “naughty”
They are all so lovable, innocent and eager to learn.

I'd say it can signify that they might be a good parent, but at the same time, they are being paid to be on their "best behaviour" with the kids. Also, they only have to be around them for a few hours, not 24/7 like a parent who is raising their kids.

Yes I wouldn't be able to be around someone else's kid for 10 minutes, they do get paid for it but sometimes they don't get paid enough, let's not forget there's many babysitters that get paid and don't do a good job either and still get paid.

I suppose, but either way, you make no money for being a parent. In fact, kids cost a lot of money. It's easy to deal with kids for a short period of time, but when you live with them, it's way harder.
