If not, what made you not fear it?
No, I welcome death. What's there to be afraid of? It's an end and possibly a new beginning.
My default has been to never fear it. Part of this may be to a very abusive childhood full of suffering. I was suicidal by the time I was 7 years old. Wanting to stay alive is the struggle. Trying to see and appreciate the beauty of life through all the pain. But, my kids have had good lives and are also not afraid of dying. So, it may just be a mental thing. Like, there's nothing to fear but fear itself.
The only thing to make me worry about dying has been having kids and fearing leaving them to the wolves unprepared. So, I've always worked hard to prep them for the real world and build a legacy to leave to them. The more that goal becomes completed, the less I worry about dying.
Also, I've always wanted to start a trust to finance charities that relate to helping others with struggles I've suffered through. Knowing someone cares and is trying to help when life gets tough makes a difference even if it's not much. It's like a hand reaching out in the darkness to comfort you. Dying before I accomplish this would be a bummer.

Somehow, I escaped my fate once, but it didn't make me immortal.
Death is inevitable. Fearing something we can't control wastes our limited resources in this life. So no, I don't fear it.
I think everyone is scared of death whether they say it or not. I know i was extremely scared after i had a pulmonary embolism diagnosis. But you know before that? i weighed almost 300 pounds, ate whatever i wanted, sat around and played video games for hours. The pulmonary embolism diagnoses changed my life around it really made me realize how precious and delicate life is. One little mistake in life can cause death or suffering. I lost almost 60 pounds and exercise almost everyday and i haven't had another pulmonary embolism diagnosis. I still get minor chest pain from time to time as a reminder of what i have done to my body but it's a scar that thought me a lesson.
not my own, no... I've been there before...

Why fear something you have no control over? Death will happen to each of us... we just don't know when.
