Do you believe that each good favor someone does to you you have to thank them by giving him a something?

When I mean a gift I mean a good one (not super extra luxurious and highly expensive but something good at least) whether is something to eat, something to wear or any good item, invite that person to some place to eat the next time you see that person, or give him just a certain amount of money.

When I mean favor I meant not just one favor but several ones.

A gift is something you give purely out of desire and without even considering what you could receive in return.

I don't believe that is necessary with friends and family. We help each other.
