YES , the old traditional romance has gone , but really for the most part it was always just a fantasy , back then it was easy for a male to take a " Geek " and no one had to know , he played out the romance façade , and when he got bored off to the lover , it worked like this for centuries..
Now , with all the bullshit that goes on today , everybody has their nose in your business..
There is no real place for it in todays world.. sadly , what are Mills and Boon going to do? Just keep writing fantasy as always , and who buys those stupid books? Women do.
No, it's just always been reserved mostly for people who have certain values.
Step out of your self-inflicted bubble, and you will see romance is alive and well.
No offense. But it might be you that’s in the bubble. People who are in decent marriages tend to be the most oblivious to what the dating scene is currently like. My friend who was married for 8 years got divorced last January and was the guy who always went on about how dating isn’t that bad and the apps are a great idea and how they worked great for him. Now that he’s divorced he’s struggled with dating and getting out there he’s already given up.
