Do you think “old-fashioned” romance still exist in this generation?

There was this girl I knew has told me this in the middle of conversation we had for context, she’s 23 years old:

I’m not very experienced in love. I don’t understand hookup culture, and I dislike serial dating. I have had bad experiences with LDRs and simply everything social media-related. I may act like a tough cookie, but I really am not.

Are there still people out there who will stand at your doorstep holding flowers and maybe chocolates, nervous and stumbling over their words? Are there still people who write Christmas and birthday cards each year to the people they love? Are there people who will gift their favorite book with annotations to their lover so they can enjoy it too?

I don’t want to be shown off on your Instagram or Facebook page like some meat trophy with a name. I don’t want to remind someone of my birthday or that it’s the day when a loved one passed away. I don’t want to be compared to all the beauty exhibited online.

I want someone to slow down with me and stare up at the sky, watching how the clouds turn into different shapes. Sigh.

So happy to hear the idea of trophy that’s exactly what I think and never find someone who thinks so 🥹💕 it reminds me of those friends of mine swiping guys on dating apps laughing at their pictures. So they asked my opinion about their physical appearance but I answered I was nobody to start to judge people attractiveness and they found me so extreme 😩 but can we just stop focusing on every physical detail and going beyond it? In my times people hooked and there’s wasn’t this obsession about perfection we were some normal human beings falling in love but now I feel you need to look like an AI to be considered just average 😩 like perfect skin, hairless etc.. can we just stay humans 🤧

That’s what I wanted when I was younger, but I got overlooked a lot for the girls who slept with the guys faster. I don’t really blame the guys or the other girls personally, I just blame the way things are now. I think that there are people of both genders out there who want an old fashioned romance (I’m still one of them even though I’m getting old lol), they’re just harder to find now.

I hope not... I prefer men who know their worth and are confident about their actions...

but you know... those behaviors existed mainly because sex and relationships were taboo topics... so people didn't really know what to expect...
