Why does everyone nowadays call each other "bro" or "bruh"?

I only use these terms with my sister. “Brah-v, dude, bro etc.” Its more like a filler word instead of saying her name/ exclaiming in shock or excitement, or when I’m like “really, come on?” , or when I’m trying to get her attention.
