Why Americans talk like they are in movies?

Life imitates art and vice vs.

Many movies are made in Hollywood, CA and the Los Angeles area. Therefore, many screenplay writers, actors, directors, producers, &c (people who make movies) are living there. It is really not very surprising that what they experience everyday is going to reflect in the movies that are produced. It's not "Americans talking like they are in movies", it's also "movies reflecting the way Americans actually talk in everyday life".

"dude chill, I have a life", is not that odd of a thing to hear or say and being that I live in CA, I wouldn't think "that' sounds like a line out of a movie". More like "that sounds like something I might overhear walking by someone talking on their phone.".

I think it only sounds strange to you because you are not from here, so you relate it to what you've seen in movies. But it's just everyday life for us.

That’s not just American, it’s basic English for Fuck Off. it’s not like the movie writer comes up with everything, stuff is used in every day life. It sounds nothing like a Hollywood thing lmao. It’s the type of thing that someone here in UK would come out with even a guy to another guy that was pressurising him about work or something.

Because their education comes from Hollywood and rappers. I am 1, and am around them every day, I know this. They can name you 7 different kinds of pills, 10 different kinds of drugs, but have zero clue what the capital of the state next to them is... and know virtually ZERO about anything outside the U. S. How Rihanna talks, how 21 Savage dresses? How some actress thinks politically? Then thats EXACTLY what they'll emulate. Individuality is a nice talking point for them, but they're actually scared shitless to do it. They couldn't take the criticism if they actually lived it... so they're just wannabe carbon copies of actors, actresses, athletes and rappers-while smoking weed and working a shitty job at Family Dollar.

My education comes from scientific literature and documentaries, experiments I conduct, practicing skills and trades, and general life experiences. My interests are based on what I personally like, and have nothing to do with whats popular. I've also never touched drugs, and I don't follow celebs or politics.

I'll say this much... I've been traveling all over the country for a few years, and not because I'm well off. I've been to every state but less than a handful. The general theme seems to be younger women are almost ALWAYS fitting the description I outlined-but strangely, it's quite a few guys in their 30's and 40's that do too, not younger guys. Nor is it middle aged women. 20 yr old females and 40 yr old guys should all be out together, seems like their maturity levels match. That's how it was in Texas, then Tennessee, now Ohio and Michigan too. Depends on the region also. Some places value education a lot more than others. Acting like a wannabe gangsta pos bum in Salt Lake will get someone frozen out. In Cincinnati it'll get them a fist bump and friendly greeting.
