I only want one pillow to sleep. I can do 2 for a short time I'll have the second one on my chest and hug it but it's not comfortable long term. I have a weird thing where I don't want anything between my body and the bed except the head (but never shoulders!) and down at the feet I can flip the blanket under my feet so I'm nice and warm but anywhere else I can't fall asleep if there's something squished between me and the mattress so extra pillows just make things more complicated.

I can't think of many things more useless than having something you just have to move to go to bed, then replace in the morning.

I have one on my side, my wife has one or two, but we rest our heads on them at night.

Nope, I don’t move around a lot in my bed, I wake up in the same spot I fell asleep in, so one pillow feels perfectly fine, second one is left unused.
