As For Static Electricity What Do You Get Shocked On The Most?

When we had carpet on the floor, I used to get shocked a lot when touching a door knob. A few years ago, we removed all the carpet and replaced it with vinyl flooring. I don't recall getting shocked since.

Long time ago, in college, I was working on a TV set and forgot to ground the CRT tube. I got one heck of a shock when I inadvertently touched it... a CRT tube in a TV is one huge capacitor, capable of storing lots of energy. Fortunately, CRT tubes today are very rare.

I remember those CRT tubes I always remember turning off the tv I would wipe my hand on the screen & go shock people. I don’t miss picking up those heavy tv’s.

if I takeoff a jacket that has a certain type of material like fleece or down jacket and it’s really dry out I get really big static sparks when touching something grounded so I hold a piece of metal before touching metal so I don’t feel the zap on my fingers

Same here & I I notice when the humidity drops I start charging things every time I touch it.

I have a whole house humidifier, but on super cold days it doesn't matter. I have to ground myself before I boop a kitten or I zap their nose and they look at me with disgust like "Why would you do that?"

Currently in my house the humidity is 43% I get zapped on everything.

When we had 3 days of sub-zero F highs the indoor humidity dropped to 18%. Kittens looked like they were in some sort of Nichola Tesla experiment
