Realistically you realize we can never be 100% electric power?

I've never seen you, but already know you to be a pile of shit. It's why you talk so much crap.
You seem like the sort of hick that was saying "horses will always be the best mode of transport, as no way they will ever get enough factories to make all these car parts!"
another dumb shit I see
With the current system, grid, not possible.
That doesn't mean that they won't get the idea eventually, that the grid has to be built up.
I do agree though that wind and solar aren't great, even nuclear is good, France has a done a great job at it, but the farther you build those away from where needed, the less effective.
I'll buy an electric car, when an electric 737 can fly across the ocean without a charge.
With the current electrical grid it will never happen. Also it is doubtful if we could afford the upgrades to make it possible.
Tell these sci fi liberals here that
Apparently they can't. I have never seen so many stupid people with a college degree
Thats a really narrow minded way of thinking.
If something can't be done the way it is right now, why not change the ways and make it possible.
If people thought this way all the times, we never would have made any technological progress.

I'm a power plant operator, and I can tell you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. For example, nuclear fusion power has been a pipe dream for decades. It's not being used because it still isn't feasible. And hydro power absolutely works. Look at all the dams in Montana. And solar absolutely can work in certain areas. Setting up a molten salt tower in a desert will work amazingly well, on par with nuclear.
you have to have water you idiot. Most of US doesn't have enough water. How do you use water to fly a plane? Another dumb shit liberal.
I'm not a liberal. Nuclear requires water, too, by the way. The only real difference between an old steam turbine and a brand new nuclear power plant is how you superheat the steam. An old steam turbine uses coal, diesel, or natural gas. Nuclear fuel is a special type of uranium (235) that has low enrichment in order to superheat water into steam. Molten salt does the same thing, only its a bunch of mirrors pointing at a tower to melt salt (which can retain the heat overnight) to superheat the water.
As I said before, you don't know what you're talking about. There is no one size fits all solution.
Again genius , how do you fly a jet with water?
You wouldn't. What you would do is have electricity from battery move the turbines in the jet engines, rather than burning fuel to spin the turbines in the engines. This is what nuclear powered submarines and aircraft carriers do with their propellers, too. They just happen to have the power plant located on the ship, so they don't need to go to port and recharge the batteries.
Sure , no way a battery big enough could work. Again either you are a liberal sci fi no reality or just retarded. Never will work.
You know, you could have at least done a search before typing that. They literally already exist. Youtube electric plasma jet.
Still science fiction , will never work
It literally exists. It's a thing. It's real, unlike the Fusion power that you listed in the OP.
Just take the loss, dude.
Not with wind solar and hydro, Add nuclear into the mix we would be fine, but carbon energy will always be the best if we don’t add nuclear into the mix
You do realize they are upgrading power grids all the time right? Hydro alone won’t keep up but it is extremely clean and efficient
Its not gonna happen tomorrow but I don’t why we can’t explore new technology
no I don't think any government does. They want to pay for Steve to become Eve.
Don’t think any government does what?
I definitely agree the goals they’re pushing aren’t really feasible with current technology, but like I said I’d doesn’t hurt to explore new options
I almost passed out
What?
you agreeing with me , something is wrong
I’ll usually play devils advocate, I only argue with you because you so vehemently refuse to accept any other opinion than yours as having any value
I checked one of these out last month and it is pretty nice.
First electric truck I've seen, wonder if it can go into the mountains and back without a charge.
@Aerissa_Jade It had a range of 230 miles. Nobody could tell me how long it took to charge the batteries
Well its a start, won't get me to where I'm going and back without some sort of off road charger. Seems electric vehicles are designed for daily commutes not camping, or going into the desert or mountains. I often drive 500 to 600 miles a day when travelling and that would be terrible to have a long charge time.
@Aerissa_Jade yes, I do not think they are ready for prime time. There are a lot of advantages to electric vehicles but they just do not have the range yet.
Will never have horse power a regular truck has. Also weight?
4 wheel drive?
Let me tell you. I used to be a dealer for Friendly Robotic Mowers and they were all battery robots that mowed your lawn. The batteries ran down so fast and they cost more than the mower to replace and the mowers were over $1000 and that was like 15 or 20 years ago. So, battery will take longer to charge each time you charge it and you will get less time out of it. Trust me. I know all these global warmists here will find it hard to believe I sold them.
@888thegreat It is ironic indeed that you used to sell them. I think that battery technology has made amazing progress in the last 20 year. Having electric drones was impossible and electric cars were just a science experiment. I hope we have a reliable electric car soon.
I remember GE produced an electric lawn tractor in the 70's. It had a dead man switch on the seat because it had so much startup torque that people would fall backwards off the seat.
No, I'm an Electrical engineer. Household electricity use is way down and it takes almost as much electricity just to deliver a tank of gas to the station and pump it into your tank as it does to charge an electric vehicle.
It’s a process and who knows if we’ll ever be around long enough to see it through
I see you have drunk the Kool aid.
