Where is the most random place you had misplaced (lost) something?

Spent an hour looking for my handbag which had all my bank cards, ID and other important paperwork only to be told it was in the bathroom downstairs on the bloody shelf 🤦🏽‍♀️ fml

last year i lost a really expensive case for some designer sunglasses i have and i searched the whole world for it (i travel everywhere so it could have been anywhere and usually if i put out the word someone will know where it is)

i finally gave up and bought a new one, and a week later i was in my friend's car and we were getting out and i went to grab my sunglasses out of the storage area in the side of the door by my feet and i realized wait, my sunglasses are still in my purse. i had left my original case in the car door

we later realized what's even weirder is, i have a million pairs of sunglasses, but that day i had brought the same ones that went with the missing case

ok maybe not as interesting a story as i had thought, but anyway

I never use my bottom closet and it’s just a storage space for old decorations that are functionally useless but too expensive and beautiful to throw away. While looking at my bottom closet, I found some figurines I bought for my childhood best friend one year. Nobody reminded me about it and I forgot I bought it for her. We don’t talk anymore.

Weeell Mooky, I’m showing my age here but I had some video rentals that needed to be returned and I drove myself crazy trying to find where I set the DVDs. I knew I had set them somewhere unique that I’d be able to find them later. Of course I couldn’t recall where that was!

Finally found them in the laundry room in the basement on top of the furnace. I guess I set them there when I went back to grab some pants or something.

I lost my first cell phone on the bus in the mid-nineties. Got it back later that day at the bus terminal as another passenger gave it to the bus driver. Cell phones were a quite rare novelty back then, stealing one would not have made much sense.

Years ago I lost my wallet. I had to replace all of my credit cards, ATM card, several IDs and my Social security card. About 6 months later I found said wallet under my car seat.

One time I left my phone on the bathroom sink but forgot and was looking all over the place, even in the car. Then my dad said to look in the bathroom and there it was.
