Have you ever lost your Bank card and later found out someone had been using it?

I was assaulted and mugged long ago in my 20s and I canceled the card as soon as I got home. Yet that took me an entire night and day of walking in the rain since I had no money for a cab or bus and my home was almost 30 miles away. I also got lost a lot on the way and had to keep asking people for directions.

Yet the people working at the bank asked me about all sorts of horrendous charges on my credit card the night I was pickpocketed. I was horrified (over $3,000 USD in expenses) but they said they'd investigate it.

Thankfully the police discovered the people who assaulted and pickpocketed. They caught them assaulting and pickpocketing someone else and found my wallet on them. Then the bank dropped the charges, thankfully.

After that I ceased to ever go out alone with only my wallet. I always keep some reserve money underneath my shoes in case I ever get mugged again so that I don't have to walk for miles and miles back home.

I've never lost my card but one time a pizza place in a whole other state I've never even been to charged my account almost a 1,000$ when I saw that on my account I called in late to work because boy was I gonna get to the bottom of this one.

Yes I’ve had my whole purse stolen with my license, card, social security card, and money. It sucked because they tried open loans all over town.
