THE ‘G’ IN ANY “-ING” WORD IS SILENT! It is NOT a hard-G sound! “Nothing”, not “nothing-guh.” If there’s one linguistic idiosyncrasy that I could be driven to murder over….😂😂😂

As for actual word NOTHING I would absolutely agree it starts with an N & ends with a G however other words start with an N & end with a G as well. Nesting, nodding, nursing, needing & I can think of a few others as well.
