If you are or not, can you please provide what you are skeptical about.

I am a skeptical person, especially on most psychological modalities. I research psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists. I question whether they actually care about their clientele. My experiences have enforced a belief that people in a position of authority or power will abuse that position at some point, and psychology providers are in a position of power.

i am skeptic about pretty much everything. in my experience, the issues with psychologists is 3 fold.

1: it is VERY likely that a person became a psychologist because they A: had severe mental health issues themself or B: because an important person in their life had severe mental health issues and they are in the profession in order to fix the issues they have in their life, not to help other people. or they dediced to help other people as a sort of "retribution" thing but in that case they are still doing it out of ego. so basically what i said here is meant to question if the character of a typical psychologist is actually optimal to provide therapy.

2: money is a big issue in many societies. there's a huge temptation to do what's generating you most income over what's actually best for people. there's litterally psychologists who simply check a list of key words that they use to determine what meds to throw at you and call that "therapy".

3: individual character. that can be a big issue both on client and on therapist side. first of all if you are not open to make certain changes in your life, therapy won't do shit for you. and if you are with a therapist that you have a lot of (may be even mutual) antipathy with, you can not work with them.

So yeah. i do think mental health is a big topic and you should not hesitate to get help but you should carefully choose your therapist. Not every therapist is great. and not every therapist that's great is great for you personally.

I definitely am to an extent. I certainly don't have a ton of trust in the mainstream media or establishment institutions - they've consistently been proven wrong, been proven to lie or cover up facts that they don't like, and to infringe upon individual liberties. More recently, there's been an abandonment of science in scientific communities, having that replaced with FEELINGS-based "research" and outright academic fraud.

Look at Claudine Gay, the former president of Harvard - a woman who grossly plagiarized in every single publication she's ever published - and her written output is already substantially less than average as it is for someone at her level. She attained an incredibly high-level position based not on her merit (she had very little that she didn't steal from others), but because she "checked the right boxes." Of COURSE I am skeptical of anything that comes out of such institutions - you'd have to be crazy not to be.

Right on sir. I actually hadn't thought of Claudine Gay and the whole UPenn, Harvard, MIT shitshow.

I think that most of the administrators in high positions of academia should all be audited, because I sincerely think that she isn't just the only one who did what she did as well.

Are you kidding? This crap STARTED in academia 30 years ago, and it's FULL of people who have obtained their cushy positions without the skills, work, or morals that such positions should require. Academia is SUPPOSED to question things, and have their work open to peer review, but today they want to censor, denounce, and cancel anyone who dares to question the One True Narrative.

If there was a real review, and January 6th standards were used, 10+% of academics would be in prison - and I'm being generous with that figure.

Skepticism is distrust of something that is considered mainstream.

Media, government, psychology, etc.

Nothing wrong with overthinking.
