Are there a lot of rats and mosquitoes around mansions?

What is your experience? Are there really a lot of mosquitoes and rats?

Mosquitoes breed in standing water. That has nothing to do with mansions. A lake in the middle of the wilderness will allow them to bread just as easily as a garbage can left out in the rain without it's top on. When it comes to rat population booms it comes down to unlimited access to food and water. This can happen in a large farm field with massive amounts of available grain, but is most common in urban areas with endless piles of food waste garbage bagged and piled on the streets. While large homes might produce more food waste than say an average size home, they have nothing on a 50 story apartment building in say New York City.
