No, I already know why.
Reason one is to eat them, because we are omnivore heterotrophs.
Reason two is because of stupidity, stupid people do cruel things just to be cruel (because empathy is a form of understanding), or because they have some religious belief system that makes them ok with it.
Reason 3 is because they aren't aware they are doing it. Like if you squash a harmless bug while running.
Reason 4 is greed, some cause harm for profit reasons.
Reason 5 is for utility, like making parts of them into tools or clothing.
Reason 6 is competition for resources.
Reason 7 is protecting something or someone from the animal.

Reason 9 is laziness, like in regards to pollution/waste destroying habitats or species.

Reason 10 is healthcare and beauty, many animals are tested on or sacrificed for the medical and cosmetic industries.

Yes, some people really do deserve a beat down but animals are pretty innocent. Even a vicious dog did not get that way on purpose. Sometimes I her about little puppies being abandoned or see a cat with only one eye and it really pisses me off.

So I read about these 'rescue channels' on YouTube but it turns out these animals are being abused for views. I've heard about illegal animal trading, underground fighting rings etc.

It's very sad and then they are like "We must shoot or punish the animal because it attacked us" It attacked you because it is scared 🙄
