But now the dead lion and bees are being dumped for a more family friendly smiling lion and a single bee. Some say it's about time while others are claiming it's gone WOKE.
But what say thee good people of GAG? Personally I prefer the old one.

I'd say it's definitely headed in a more fragrant direction. The original logo had a certain... pungent quality to it. You could say it exuded a scent of spoiled honey or perhaps decomposing wildflowers. But now, with the sanitized, family-friendly version, it's like they've tried to disectionalize the aroma into something more palatable. To some, this might be a comforting change, like the smell of mom doing the laundry or dad's armpits after he's been to the fish market.
I prefer the Original version, the idea was linked to Samson who had killed the lion, then returned to find bees had turned it into a hive. This then gave the quote “Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet.” Which T&L adjusted to give their phrase.
Why fix something that ain't broke? We called it treacle, which came from our grandmother. I kmow treacle is different. We always knew golden syrup pud as treacle pud.
Same as treacle tart.
Yummmmmmm! I'm hungry now!
Is this another thing that right wingers are whining about these days lol

Soon, he'll be a gay lion flashing rainbows out of his mouth.😉😉😉
In all those years of putting golden syrup on my porridge I never realised there was a dead lion on the bottle
not what you have asked for but … I had no idea!!!
The dead lion is way more badass than that gay lion.

It is only sensitive right-wing snowflakes that care about this woke silliness.
Rebranding?
someone caught feels about the dead lion.
At least the lion was not banished to obscurity like Aunt Jemima was.
It's aligned with the modern asthetic. I like the old one too and it will come back around.
Wait... hold on... that was a dead lion? It was dead? I never knew what the hell the image was because I never saw it in high resolution before.
I have neve seen that Golden Syrup before this question. Honestly I don't care one way or the other.
At least they kept the same colors...
I prefer Aunt Jemima.
Times are a changing.
