A new version of Scrabble has been launched aimed at Gen Z, who find the original version too intimating. Instead of scoring points players work together to achieve goals set out on cards.
Critics have branded the new version WOKE, but what say you?
Personally I don't like scrabble because there's not enough Y's and W's to spell most words.

That’s not what i think of as “woke”. Board games have had to adapt in order to remain relevant in a society that leans more into technology for everything. Monopoly has ATM machines now. Battleship does everything electronically, so you can’t move your ships around and cheat. Scrabble HAS an app, probably as a result of the popularity of Words with Friends. I will admit that the change seems a little childish on the face of it because the only time i cooperate with another player is if i’m completely outclassing them and i can help them be more competitive, usually children. Then i remember that human beings evolved further faster once we started living in communities larger than our immediate families and cooperating for survival and success. It wasn’t until much later that we allowed capitalists and industrialists to convince us that cutthroat greed is what made mankind great. Now look us. Lots of people would suggest our evolution has slowed, stopped or even reversed. That’s hard to argue against with flat Earthers in the mix. Maybe all we really need is to discover the value of cooperation again. Bravo, Scrabble! Good on ya!
Not gonna happen. Everyone wants to increase market share. Games have always changed to remain relevant. Even what you call “retro” is most likely a modified version of a game that’s older than you are.
The owners of scrabble are too dumb to realize that people play video games now which can often be purchased in discount bundles for close to a dollar a piece. Many video games are even given away free every week. Yet scrabble is still trying to demand $20 for their ancient game which can't be played with friends over the internet. Most young people spend a good amount of time in front of electronic devices... Do they learn from the trends in human gaming? No... They go full retard and make woke scrabble. They're truly retarded and disconnected from reality.
Yes because everybody gets a participation trophy in today's modern woke candy ass world. On some episodes of The Flintstones streaming on the Roku channel they even have warnings on there that the show is a product of its time they've kept it and it's original content but some viewers may find it offensive. 🤯 If an episode of The Flintstones cartoon from the 1950s offends you you are a spineless woke jellyfish and we could not be friends. Because I would ride your ass so hard you would block me and go to therapy. With your emotional support animal your coloring books your hot chocolate and your favorite coloring books.
So because people are too stupid to play regular scrabble they made a scrabble that is easier and everyone wins? Sooo participation trophy version? Well no wonder the US is falling farther and farther behind people are scared to win and instead want the losers to feel appreciated because they exist.
Not what i was expecting, i was expecting a version where the rules ban certain words, but it seems that even board games are now being watered down. What next: A version of chess where you are not allowed to take pieces of the board in case it promotes violence.
Oh no wait a minute: The woke brigade would love a game where they can remove the Queen and checkmate the King im sure.
Perhaps there will be a new version with the King and Queen replaced with a President and First Lady and the pawns replaced with Senators
I've played the game since I was a kid, started with my Great Grandmother. Obviously, I couldn't spell for shit, but that's why a dictionary was part of the game. It was a rule that if it's not in the dictionary it doesn't exist.
I would say it's woke, because like everything else that's woke, it goes to shit.
