I'm kinda bored rn and just wanna hear some random facts about some random shit, literally anything weird, creepy, interesting, let's hear it lol, I'll go first.

Did you know that in the 17th century, Countess Elizabeth Báthory was a Hungarian noble woman who is often proclaimed the most prolific female serial killer of all time? She was accused of killing more than 600 young women inside her castles, and she believed that by bathing in their virginal blood it would grant her eternal youth, and she ended up opening a "school for girls" so she could get more of them there and kill them too 🙂 She was also know as The Blood Countess and a bunch of female vampires in books and movies have been based off of her which is kinda cool... aight what else ya got?

if your dog plays rough with you and tries to bite you don't retract your hand it will only make it want to catch more insteadpush your hand into it's mouth it will immediately lose interest in the biting and start licking, interestingly same goes for cats too (i suspect itgoes for every carnivorous animal i once tried this trick on a lion (i have some family friendswho lives in dubai and has a lion named tala, i tried this on him when he was trying catch my hand it suprisingly worked (for the ones who wants to call me suicidel or crazy, well when you are playing with a 220 kg big cat you don't have much to fear of, you are already at his mercy might as well try all of your luck in that last shot because if he is gonna attack he is gonna attack and you have no chance, you can't run, you can't hide and you can't absolutly fight)

also if you ever encounter a crocodile/aligator/cayman just grab it's mouth in your hand i know it sounds weird but even though their bite force is crazy strong the muscles they use for oppening their mouths are very weak, so much so that even a human can keep it closed with their hands and this trick might be the only chance of survival you can have against any type of crocodile.

One of my favorites to share is that potatoes weren't a staple food in most European cuisine until quite late and France even banned potatoes for a good portion of the 18th century believing they were poisonous. They were introduced by Spaniards into Europe from South America in the 16th yet they were mostly only used for animal feed for very long periods of time after their introduction into Europe.

I always found that interesting since I always thought of meat and potatoes as one of the oldest foods of European culture. My original image as a boy of feudal feasts in the Middle Ages was meat and potatoes when the actual reality is that potatoes weren't even known to Europeans at the time.

You have to increase or decrease your pump pressure 5lbs. (4.33lbs.) for every 10 feet of elevation change, be it higher or lower.
On ground level and you have a fire on the 4th floor, you have to increase your pump pressure 15 pounds.

I get so used to talking shop, I tend to forget that others may not be as well versed in fire department stuff.
It really applies to the driver operator, but the ones on the hose lines depend on them knowing what they are doing.

@CaptainSmartass it's a constant debate, red disappears at dusk, but the public is used to seeing red trucks.
As of a few years ago we still had some cotton jacketed hose that was still in service from the 60s. Brass couplings and it still passed the hose test every year.
Slowly they started to fail, so we have the nylon jacketed lines with the alloy couplers.
We tried the all red "rubber" lines but the kinked more and were easily punctured, so we phased them out, but still have a few lengths left.

I get annoyed when people talk about Elizabeth because factually it's not a thing yet many people think that's all true smh. So the real fun fact is none of this is proven or true to any knowledge.

So let's talk about a real killer H. H. Holmes but a fun fact about H. H. Holmes is most of his so called kills are overexaggerated and not real, himself even admitted to killing people who were still clearly alive lol. He did kill people for sure, but just a lot was made up around him.

My point overall here been don't assume you know much about a killer if you haven't actually looked into it. Coming from someone who reads into such things all the time heavily.
