+1 yNo, I am sometimes wrong, and when I am, I admit it. Just about every woman I've known though, has difficulty admitting when she is wrong.
Hence... an axiom that every guy should learn...
Women are always right, even when they are wrong.

But I don't want to be right all of the time. Where's the fun in that? π
+1 ynope :D
being right is quite objective, so I happen to just back off... proving I'm right isn't the most important thing for me

@Kykiono1 only in proven areas like math or basic physics we have objective truths. The rest is a matter of perception

sorry, to be clear, I think what you meant was "being right is quite subjective..."? That is to say, depending on the subject (personal perspective).
- +1 y
@zeitgeist057 yes, you are right, lol...
- +1 y
@islathewitch I suppose I am, depending on the perspective lol. :)
+1 yNot always but I'm gonna try to find a way to be right 🤣

+1 yI don't actually believe anything so I'm never really right and never really wrong.

I think in terms of probabilities instead of right vs. wrong. For example, I think there's a ~85% probability that I love pizza since I appear to have enjoyed it every time provided my memory of eating it in the past is correct -- for which I estimate my memory of having eaten pizza to have a ~90% chance of being accurate -- so that leaves about 0.85*0.9 = ~76.5% chance that I love pizza.
- +1 y
So if someone says, "You don't love pizza," I don't necessarily disagree with them but I also don't necessarily think I'm wrong since I never claimed to believe I love pizza in a way where I was sure that I was right.
- +1 y
Also we didn't precisely define the parameters of what constitutes "pizza". I had something specific in mind, for which I don't even estimate a 100% probability of loving even that, so depending on exactly what we're talking about when we mean "pizza", my probability estimate of loving it might vary wildly.
- +1 y
I will say I love pizza if I estimate over a 50% probability that it might be correct just as a shorthand. Yet my shorthand is not reflective of what I actually think. I'm trying to avoid being too long-winded.
- +1 y
I agree in another way, to me there really is "no good nor bad, but thinking makes it so" (Shakespeare).
There is no such thing as right and wrong, no good or bad. Everything changes with perspective. - +1 y
@zeitgeist057 I went a bit silly there and carried away with the post. π There is a similar quote from Marcus Aurelius (my Stoic idol):

I'm an empiricist so I tend to subscribe to the notion that there are empirically falsifiable claims. Yet I'm a pragmatist above all else and much more an engineer that way than a scientist.
For example, if an engineer who violates many principles of structural engineering still manages to construct the world's tallest building and not see it collapse, I want to adopt his ideas no matter how unorthodox. I'll leave it to the scientist types to figure out why his ideas work so well in practice. I'm only deeply interested in the utility of knowledge, not its verifiability.
m +1 yNah, I am often pretty wrong at times. I do hold my hand up when I am. I also try not to make a big deal of it when I am right though.
