Why did you put this question under sexuality?

@Red_Arrow It might have been G@G and not the asker. Sometimes, G@G system, during question preview, will suggest sexuality for a non sexual question, then default to putting the question under sexuality after you've selected a different topic.
@supergodman12 Sometimes selecting a different topic doesn't as G@G disregards your selection and put's your question under sexuality anyways. I've had a few questions, that were put in sexuality after selecting a different topic then sexuality which is what G@G suggested. Weird little bug that Admins don't care about fixing.

If it were me, I'd keep it off, there is really no benefit to enabling surround mode, and could impact audio quality as your TV is trying to mimic surround through stereo speakers. If you're really interested in surround sound, and don't have a lot of money to spend, check your local thrift shops. I have a surround sound system connected to my TV that I bought a few years ago for $35 at a local thrift shop.

Don't know what Kay means. But depends on the sound bar, some don't offer much improvement over TV speakers while some do, some even support surround sound. I don't a sound bar, I have a regular 5.1 receiver and 6 separate speakers.

OK. If you're interested in a sound bar, go for it, just be sure to get one of decent quality with a subwoofer.

What surrounded sound mode? Pass through? Your TV has optical audio output, so it should support pass through. FYI pass through only works on optical output. What pass through does, is allow the TV output a unaltered surround sound signal. Example your watching a movie that has 5.1 Dolby Digital, instead of the TV converting it to 2 channel stereo, it passes through the 5.1 Dolby Digital signal for the external sound device to handle such as a receiver or sound bar.

If the television doesn't have surround on auto, I'd keep it as intended

I think hd is basic I guess and 4k is what used to be the HD of its times, the latest and best
