How do you interpret the saying "All is fair in love and war"?

I do not agree with this. The bible teaches you must choose kindness and justice over personal gain or pleasurable self interest. I mean, Justice as in, compensating people with the benefits they’ve worked for, not tit for tat vengeance against people who irritate you or your friends.

it is used as an excuse to be unfair. the word "all" is the problem. like "use poison gas because all is fair."

i love a married women "all" is fair to cause "til death you part". those are the problems.

Not true. All is not fair in love. If it was, no one would cheat and every relationship would work. There are war crimes, so by default that can’t be true.
