Do you think while you’re sleeping?

I don’t think anyone normally does, I have a couple of times though. Sometimes my thoughts will also turn into dreams.

I kind of done so when I was half asleep. This much I can know. I’ve never sleep walked or so. Anything like that, but maybe this counts? but also it’s still the half asleep. ☝️ I have some knowledge of the whole ordeal but seem to lack the restraint? I simply observe myself kind of do that. (Thing). At the time of falling into it, I was doing something and become too sleepy to finish logically. So- writing and typing. These are main things I did in sleep-wakefulness.

I noticed the writing, once when I was trying to write a note or so but anyhow, it turned to scribbles instantaneously (based on the fact of how tired and how fast I fell in to sleep mode).

Other times while typing- difficult to say, but I believe I typed random letters and then autocorrect would make it become random words with no real meaning.

This most recent time! I thought and was! Awake. Proof on being awake is I remember reading the message from my husband while he was at work, and I replied to it with all my strength- I had to- since I had read it and never wish to leave him on read, anyway. Then I went right back to sleep even knowing well enough I was very tired.

Later that day, I reread, and the first message was letters and auto corrected words I didn’t even remember typing. Vaguely; and I let myself do it.

The second time, I found I really wasn’t awake as I had originally thought. One of the sentences of my message was not in response to him AT ALL and it made no logic with myself.

The context of it was ‘weight loss’ or ‘health,’ but I know myself in wakefulness, that as much as I would want to take extra time to lose excess weight, I would not do it in an unhealthy and hazardous way. For me, I think a month (30 days) is a good start to wait for/ until I will see results. I don’t expect to see results, or force it, any earlier than that, and yet?

My message to him said something about 20 days! I don’t know where I got the number 20… but I disagreed majorly with my sleeping self 😂

- This is the only time I actually made a sentence in my sleep and was aware of it, but I believed whatever I was typing at that time was actually in response to him and had actually made sense. Must’ve been some type of hallucination or poor judgement. I clearly believed wrongly while in that state.

What’s crazy is somehow I replied to my own message. I don't know if I had a case of sleeping on my keyboard or I was truly sleep-typing until I fell deeper in to sleep. The latter message- I remember it, which means I was more awake, and I remember trying to reply before I dozed off again, so I said “can’t think.” I had knew I was losing time and also struggling. I wanted to reply to him before resting, and yet I said all of that, including this odd “20 days” remark. I have nothing on my calendar for that… and don’t encourage this for myself lol. Only healthy paced regimens. So weird. I would say I was barely in CONTROL control, though. In that time frame.

I suppose I replied to him and then successfully typed while I was going into deeper sleep. Maybe we have random thoughts pass through and some become dreams? Maybe this message simply highlighted one of those randomly.

Kind of but thinking during sleeping is like thinking in drunk condition. Nothing makes sense but still everything does. Now I don't know how it is to be drunk, I'm comparing on the basis of what is shown in movies.

Well, then I think about the most random things but they seem to be the most important ones too. And unfortunately, due to my poor memory, I can't remember these thoughts by the time I am awake in morning.

Everyone thinks while dreaming every single night, and thinking while asleep is always dreaming, you just aren't going to remember all of it.

The only time thinking ever stops is when you're dead.

As for me when I switch over to sleep mode my brain is usually on autopilot & truthfully I don’t know what the hell happens.

Not dreams, actually thinking like you normally do when awake

You do the same thinking while dreaming as you do while awake, they aren't different things.

The only difference is your senses and movement are "shut off" so your thoughts manifest the situations you end up in, rather than physics. Dreams are pure imagination/memory.

You can also visualize all of that while awake if you shut your eyes. Also your senses don't entirely shut off, sometimes some of the things you smell or hear in the real world while asleep can manifest in your dreams.

No, thinking is a conscious thing to do. Yes I do have dreams and nightmares but that is not thinking.

Exactly. Since I wasn’t actually thinking about anything, have you ever been awake while you were sleeping? That’s what I experienced, I was just sitting there conscious and aware
