How would you carry on if Electricity were to disappear?

So let's just say you wake up tomorrow in the same world, But suddenly all the Electricity disappears with no possibility of ever returning. Stuff like your phone, your car, and such are all completely useless because of the sudden loss of power around you completely.

How would you react and how would you carry on?

Oh that would be awful, that just cascades into many problems for our society which humans decide to purge because they go law don't matter now as no one can catch us.
Think about it cops can't use cars, military can't come in on tanks or heli's, CTV gone? The ways we ID a perp? The actual structure of any defense is gone.
Therefore steal and kill is prime time.

Then if we live through all that stuff, we will go back to living back in the times in which the entertainment was war really.
How the past was, play a chess game before going to war, play football before going to war, read a book before going to war, had a child before going to war.
Look all through history that's what happens. These day's it's a choice to join the army which is honestly thanks to tech without that yeah war is not choice it's a law of life.

You would have to get on with it and accept certain things.

a huge jump in infant deaths during birth

a huge jump in deaths of everyone from fairly basic ailments.

we would have no heating, no medical equipment, no fire service,

we would then have huge starvation hitting the globe

People would likely starve to death within 6 months

the global logistics chain would collapse,

there would be no method of moving food around the country, only those close to farms would be able to eat,

entire cities would become war zones.

Hundreds of thousands of people flying would crash into cities etc, starting fires but no fire service would be able to assist putting them out.

Nucelar power stations would go into melt down

oh the list goes on

How did people live before electricity?

Everyone would have to go back to living healthy and to taking better care of themselves. Actually, it would be a blessing for humanity and the planet. Perhaps, with a little luck, that will happen again.

The only people I have pity for are those who depend on electricity to survive, such as those that are on dialysis, that need breathing devices or premature babies.

What I would not miss are the cellphones, the internet and a few other superfluous items such as online shopping.

People would start again to talk to each other and be a little more civilized with each other.

@Kaneki05 No, not at all, I am perfectly aware of the consequences. RebelSteel made a pretty accurate description of some of the consequences of such event.

The positive thing about it would be that it would give the earth relief that it desperately needs and a natural population selection. The earth is overcrowded and all those capitalists would finally be a little more equal with the rest of the world population. There are only benefits.

You talk of people will become more civilized but I fail to see how all those consequences and more war leads to that in anyway. All it does is set us back to when war is the main goal, and killing is just a way to live.
How would that be a blessing. That's a nightmare unless you like war and death I guess.

Countries invaded each other all the time, and all wanted to be on top.
They still want to be on top today but what stops is tech since WW3 is a lose for everyone. Without that pre-stopping from tech war's would cascade into many invasions.

I live in South Africa. I doubt anyone here would notice. It might actually improve things.

I'd use more oil lamps, but I cook by gas or on a fire/bbq anyway so it wouldn't change much. I'm already learning how to store food without refrigeration by canning in mason jars so it wouldn't be a big deal except the cost of oil.

But hey, sunflower oil etc wasn't developed to be a good in the first place...

With luck, that'd also apply to the electricity running the cells in my body, so I'd die a quick, if unpleasant, death. If it didn't, then be unable to use my CPAP machine, and die a much slower, even more unpleasant death.

Electrical charge is a fundamental aspect of matter. More than just cars, phones and TVs would be unimaginably affected.

If just technology which harnesses electricity in a controlled, human-designed fashion (including power plants) stopped being able to harness it, I'd walk to a library and read up on steam power and mechanical engineering.

Electricity replaced oil lamps and coal-fired steam engines in the late 1800s early 1900s, but there's nothing even on the horizon that will replace electricity, so we are addicted.

Without it, we'd have no refrigeration for example, so it would be hard. We'd have to find alternative sources of light, heating, AC, etc.

It would be like camping I guess

Where would you get the oil for heating from?
How would you transport it?
Start from a farmer with crops, how does he harvest them?
Once harvested how does he get them to a local market?
Now think of this on the size of say LA, New York City, how do you feed everyone, how do you put out all those fires from those airliners crashing into the cities?

If it never came back I'd be out of work since I'm an electrician

No I'm simply pointing out the fact that the internet made access to information, skill improvement, artist software, video games, how to tutorials, science experiments. wildlife cams, etc. more widespread. And electronics in general have opened up a lot of avenues for scientific exploration in most fields of study, even before the internet but also after as well.

So electrical devices have actually made people smarter, thinking otherwise is just dumb.
