I am very glad I have one. I went to start my car this morning, and it had a dead battery as I have not driven it in about 10 days, and the OBD port has a device attached for the insurance to record usage (cheap but good insurance) which drains the battery. So right now I have the charger attached and running. I have two other cars but today I need to shop at the grocery store, and I cannot fit groceries into either of my 2 sports cars. So I am waiting it out.
Yup. I have at least two, maybe three. Since I don't drive much, my batteries tend to die. I have a slow trickle charger ( 0.5A ), the kind that has a permanent attachment to the batter with a connector sticking out through the grill. I pretty much leave it plugged in all winter.
I also have jumper cables and a toolbox in the trunk. Everyone has mobile phones now, so they just call for help if they break down. Not to mention that cars are way more reliable now. But in the past it was common to stop and help broken down drivers on the road. Or give them a ride to the next exit if I can't get it running. Nowadays everyone is so paranoid they'd probably freak out if someone stopped to help. But it used to be common.
Shout-out to the young woman with a young child who stopped to help me the last time my own car needed a jump.

I have this neat little $40 Noco charger that's a direct connection on to the battery terminals. I mounted it under a plastic splash guard near the battery and hooking up to an extension cord it will automatically charge and or repair the battery, even a dead one, to working condition. Automatically stops charging when done.
I use it primarily when I haven't driven a while or when it's cold as it keeps the battery nice and fresh with good voltage during those cold nights.
Well worth it to protect my $200 AGM battery.
I'm pretty sure my husband has a couple of these things, but of course I might well be confusing them with something completely different.
Nah If one of my cars die ill just jump it with the other car

I have both a trickle charger (which is really just a big transformer in a case) and a lithium battery "jump pack." I used to have a much larger jump pack with gel-cell batteries for a long time, but those have been made obsolete by the newer lithium-ion jump packs.
I have three chargers and two instant Starters.
A Noco 20 / Noco 40 (For my R8) the Noco 20 isn't powerful enough.
2 intelligent pulse meter chargers (7 Stage)
and 1 amp starter for batteries that need a VERY slow charge (48 hours) This one is the best for older batteries as it charges them without damaging any of the cells (Fast chargers can do that, even smart ones)That's one thing my cousin needs to get a charger when we get a second hand vehicle.
I have a DeWalt portable combination jump start pack and air compressor. It has saved the day several times.
I have battery charger and i have this jump starter in my car trunk just incase
Yes but dead after only ten days is a problem. Something other than the OBD port is being left on, I would wager. Or, you need a new battery. Or possibly your alternator has issues..
I have two of them, a booster pack which I haven't used those in years, and a battery tender with 2 outlets that I use on my bikes and classics in the wintertime.
I just move it around to keep the batteries up.
They last longer too.Modern cars turn off headlights etc. before the battery dies. I have a hybrid so the battery is pretty big. It's not a concern.
no, I have jumper cables.
time to get a new battery. they are not made well anymore and fail by their warranty time. Always have them checked annually.
I have had at least one in my truck for the last 30 years.
I have one, but couldn't you just use jumper cables from one of your other cars? Once it's started, the car can charge the battery.

Yes I do three months ago I had to charge it for 18 hours
I have a jump box in every vehicle I own. You never know when you might need it. I also have an air compressor in each vehicle in case we get a flat tire.
Yeah. But it's covered in dust. And decades old. Because back when I was poor it was really needed. Now the quality of cars I own are better. Hell, the quality of cars in general are just better.
Not anymore, not sure what happened to it actually. But I have 2 vehicles and booster cables
Yes
A charger and jump. packWow, I forgot that is something you can buy. What do you use?
Yes. Where I live, its important to have a battery charger.
