The correct word is octopi, not octopusses. They told me to tell you that, as a sign of their intelligence.

Regardless of what @exitseven says about Flipper, octopi are very intelligent.

Actually it's octopuses or octopodes because it's derived from Greek and not Latin.

Octopuses & octopi are indeed smarter in their own way & dolphins are smarter in their own way as well.

I don’t think so but I’m not sure. Octopi can communicate through ink.

No. dolphins are mammals and have a more developed brain. Besides, when did an octopus ever have their own TV show. https://upload. wikimedia. org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2c/Flipper_Luke_Halpin_1963. jpg/220px-Flipper_Luke_Halpin_1963. jpg

@WindAtMyBack yes, that is true. And I think I remember that the Beatles movie Help was originally called "Eight Arms to Hold You" probably about an octopus.

It depends on what you mean by intelligence. If you’re talking about problem-solving and mechanical skills, the octopus might take the crown. But if you’re looking at social intelligence and communication, the dolphin reigns supreme. In the grand tapestry of oceanic intelligence, both creatures shine brightly, each in their own unique way.
