Introversion and shyness are not the same, and are too often conflated.
The best way to think of the introvert-extrovert scale is to consider that everyone has a “social battery”. Introverts are drained by social engagements and extroverts are charged by them. It is a scale, so there are degrees to both, with ambivert in the middle.
For me personally, how long i can sustain a social interaction is affected primarily by how “on” i need to be. Around a few engaging strangers, i will drain quickly. Around a large group of close family and friends, i’ll drain more slowly. I’m just as comfortable being with one good friend as i am being completely alone. How drained i am determines how long i need to be more or less alone to recharge my battery. It’s usually at least several hours. It has occasionally been days.
As introverts, it’s extremely important to know these things about ourselves in order to have a satisfying social life. It’s equally important to let the people who are important to you know what you know. It’s really hard to make and keep friends if people think you’re just a flake, disrespectful or ghosting them entirely. Not everyone will get it, and some won’t accept it. That’s their right. It’s better to have that conversation so you can focus your energy on friendships with the potential to be mutually satisfying anyway.

I would probably be considered an ambivert at times but if i had to choose between extrovert and introvert.. I'm definitely introvert.
Not shy at all though 🙃. I just need my alone time to recharge my social battery

I am mostly introverted, with an occasional outburst of being an extrovert.
Interesting that the linked test, which I took, tells me the opposite...
"Interpretation: According to your choices, the extraversion percent for you is 53.33% while the introversion percent is 46.67%. This means that you are more of an Extrovert than an Introvert."
Maybe being close to 50-50 is what I really am.
