Like many people, you are conflating introversion with shyness. They aren’t the same. They’re not even related.
I’m an introvert, but i’m not uncomfortable with meeting new people or asserting myself at all.
The best description of the introvert/extrovert scale that i’ve found is as follows. Consider that every person has a social “battery”. For introverts, their battery drains in social situations and recharges when they’re alone or with close family & friends. For extroverts their battery is charged by social interactions and it drains when there is little to no external stimuli.
I actually quite enjoy meeting new people. It just drains my battery faster than being around people who know me. The better someone knows me, the longer i can sustain social interaction. Being assertive doesn’t necessarily drain me at all, but i do more deliberately calculate risk versus reward when asserting myself. I don’t waste energy on matters that mean little to me.

Introverted doesn’t mean being a socially anxious little freak who doesn’t talk to anybody. It means you prefer small circles and need alone time

Well, I'm not part of that majority. A farm house out in the country, far away from the noise of cars and away from degenerates who do nothing but still and kill, that would be wonderful

Life is a zero sum game, the more people there are, the less opportunities for success and happiness.

We've reached the point where all possibilities of success and happiness are long gone. My simple solution is to not be around other people. That way, I can do what I please, create my own opportunities, and live a good life.

As long as there are people around me, I'll never be able to have any of that
