I'm an extrovert. I love being around others and listening to their stories. I love being outdoors. Anyone else feel relaxed when socializing with others in person (not online).
1.1K opinions shared on Relationships topic. I dont think your definition of an extrovert , is actually an extrovert at all , completely differing definitions in my view. Extroverts rarely love to listen , they love to hear the sound of their own voice , they love to be the guy/ girl running the chook raffle , they love to be the one waffling on making inept , useless presentations.
I like all those things you mentioned. I consider myself to be neither , at times I talk to much , sometimes too little , and if its not complete and utter bs I love to listen , I was okey at those presentations when I knew my topic well , but was forced into all that really , and it just kept going , people would say " Ohh but you can do it " , I always found that amusing bcoz when I started I certainly couldn't.
True extroverts often have a black manic side , and they mask that with displays of confidence ( false ) , and out there style behavior , telling jokes , and putting down others. Over here in this country , its rather impolite to be extroverted , its just seen as showing off , but you see some , generally on the bottom rungs of the ladder.
Mark my words , and consider each of your network when they perform , then consider the word " actual " , and see what's going on in their head , on either side of the fence.

+1 yI'm an Introvert. People scare me! I'm an INFP (Introvert, Intuitive, Feeler, Perceptive), and according to this personality, I do much better on my own, traveling on my own path. personality. Sometimes I feel that I don't fit in around people. I am a really caring person and look out for everyone, but people often mistake that for weakness.
The town I live in how, I've only been here for about 6 months, my family is either dead or moved away, and I have no friends, so maybe it's better that I'm an introvert. It does get lonely sometimes though. I mean, I don't have anyone to talk to when I need to. I've written 7 novels since I've been here, so i really have been spending a lot of time alone.
People think I'm weird too because I look at ideas and problems from all sides. Even people's arguments, I look at all sides. The Myers-Briggs test really has me pegged, lol. That test definitely knows you! Everything it said about my personality is true!
I'm a loner falling into a bottomless pit of despair. ::Sighs:: Though, it is peaceful.

Asker+1 yWhy do people scare u?

This is probably going to sound weird, and dark, lol, it's just I have really bad anxiety, and people seem dangerous to me. I had abusive parents, I lived with a narcissistic aunt last year who did unspeakable things, and where I'm living now, it's mostly drug addicts, drug dealers, and girls selling themselves to buy drugs.
I haven't had any friends for about a year now, most of them were horrible people that used me anyway, and now, in this place I live, I don't feel safe. I tried talking to someone about this the other day, but I don't want to be a burden. I know it sounds weird. I tried to explain it the best I could, lol.
Asker+1 ySorry you've gone through a lot.
Aww you shouldn't feel like a burden. You're not. You should seek some therapist; they are willing to listen and have experience listening to all kinds of people from all walks of life. And try to relocate to a safer neighborhood. Not everyone is a narcissist and going to use you. Hope everything goes better and u can get the help you need.

Neither id rather be at a party reading a book or out running or climbing a tree listening to a book. I hate being at home, sedentary, I like crowds— but I don’t necessarily want to mingle. I like lots of energy but I may want to be by myself BUT I don’t like being isolated. I guess if I have a choice, then I can be either depending on the situation.
Sometimes, I’m very talkative but then I crave privacy. I think I’m probably extroverted then introverted to regroup but I don’t doing physical activities with others & I don’t like being still. 🤷🏻♀️11 Reply

I can be very social in selective moments with people I like.

10 ReplyTo me introvert and extrovert isn't about what we enjoy, but our energy levels.
I consider myself a social introvert because I enjoy talking with people, but it's costing me a lot of energy to do so, far more then I get from the social interaction.02 Reply- 335 opinions shared on Relationships topic.
+1 yIntrovert! Love my privacy, intimacy. I like ro "wash my dirty laundry" in the family. The less outsiders know the better. Been.. pushed, kicked, shouted out too much at, to be able to be an extrovert. 🤷♂️

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI don’t know if it’s being introverted or just general social damage, but I hate small talk or insignificant talk. I would much rather sit and talk to someone deeply for an hour than give them 20 seconds of elevator talk. I hate fumbling for disingenuous, meaningless noise to fill the discomfort the other person feels with the silence. I also hate talking around people who could be listening. I know it’s not their fault for being within earshot but at the same time ew
00 ReplyIntrovert. I get stress go to work and see everyone screaming talking nonstop. It drains me go to work and be around people.
