I was bit by a spider one. That faq was hiding in my shoe and I didn’t realize. Nothing happened but I was in pain for 30 min. Spider bites I think are common compared to ants. I kill centipedes on the spot no questions asked. I don’t investigate if they bite or not.

I find ants tend to bite more readily than spiders or centipedes, I've picked up and handled them all.

I feel like they use theirs on a more frequent basis, so it’s just common ant behavior at this point 🤷‍♀️. They’re also the type to kill their own queen if she seems defect to them or so.

For me, its when I step on or close to anthill in a wetland/woodland, it tends to piss them off. Like ground hornet nests, those are just brutal.

🤣 it’s kinda hilarious and kinda nightmare fuel. I once was sitting on the lawn of a church and had a bunch on my foot just biting away. I was so surprised I took a picture. In retrospect, it’s the funniest wildlife experience I ever had.

Needless to say, I chose the wrong spot. I usually try to avoid those though, for the BIGGEST reason ☝️ being they just are so tiny and we can mess up hours, and idk- maybe even days of work, in a single moment. I want them to live well and defend their turf, so I typically try to avoid em. 🐜
