It really depends on how accessible I need or want it to be. I'd either save it in a money market, buy a CD, put it in my Roth, or do a high ROI project on my house to force appreciation and as an inflation hedge. I am interested in crowdfunded real estate, but since it's a newer investment option, I'm taking a wait and see approach.

Right now, I'm keeping tabs on the market and the Federal Reserve; I think they will hold steady on interest rates for a while or slightly raise them. My main goal is to hedge against inflation. As long as the cash makes enough to keep ahead of that, I am leery of getting into the market right now. Nothing has gone on sale yet. : )

If I had $5000.00 I would go to a bank & open up a cd for four to seven months & let it ride because interest rates at still good. Don’t forget you have to pay taxes on the additional income.

i would spend it gradualy on rent and bills and buy luxury foods.
