Is this projection?

When someone feels a certain way and they say that's how it is and how other people feel too without knowing them. Is this projection?

Projection is when you take your own personal biased and beliefs (usually traits that you, yourself, find distasteful) and imply, insinuate, or outright accuse someone else of having those traits.

For example, you might subconsciously be a very greedy person. And you might come across someone who works for a company that sells medical equipment, or food, or whatever. A projection would be something like, accusing that person of only being interested in money and not really caring about the people they are helping.

There are lots and lots of different kinds of projection but the fundamental thing that is common to all of them is trying to put your own inadequacies onto other people and then trying to tear them down for it

In your particular example I would say yes. That's a kind of projection but I would also need to know a little more about what is actually being said to make a real judgement.

Yes it is. How do they know how other people feel. It is like they are trying to force you to agree with them b y saying others think that way as well. I've had people doing that to me also. They would say no on will or no one cares to try and stop me

Pretty much, I think its when one person projects their opinion onto another person. They try to make the other person believe their way/thoughts are best.
