Yes. My Dad use to take me to the park early on most weekends as a kid, and we would fly it. I miss those times!

Yes. The first time i ever flew a kite i was an adult. I had already bought the kite for the occasion, and i assembled it. It was a “3D” kite made to look like a pirate ship with a dragon painted on it.
I had been drinking when the wind picked up. On a whim, i decided that was the day that i was going to fly my kite. Went inside and grabbed my toy and ran out to the back forty like a giddy child. Ell oh ell!
I got it flying and let out as much string as i could to see how far up it would go. It wasn’t a big kite and it almost disappeared from sight. It seemed to take hours to reel it back in! I never flew it again. Instead, i gave it to my girlfriend’s nephew.

every year, in September, we have the kites festival (Festival der Riesendrachen) in the old Tempelhof Airport grounds in Berlin... we have our kites and flow them together with other people

Sure. Lots of times, especially when I was little. But about ten years ago I bought one of those dual line, stunt kites for fun. I flew it quite a bit for a few years. I should get it out and play with it some more.

As for me I always attempted to fly a kite however gravity sucks.  On the flip side I made my own kite with a garbage bag & a fishing pole & it flew.

Yes. Memories of it disappearing into the clouds in England as a tot. I used to have a stunt kite when a teen. That was fun too.
