You say he's a millionaire. Let's assume that's true. Either he got incredibly lucky (which CAN happen, but it's reasonably rare), OR, he was smart and worked hard to get that money, which is likely the case, ESPECIALLY if he comes from a wealthy family who already figured out how to make money.

And one thing the vast majority of people who had to EARN their money figure out very quickly is not to let their money sit around in their bank account losing value to inflation. Instead, they invariably INVEST that money, so that, hopefully, it grows, even as they sleep or take days off.

Sure, he may only keep a small amount in his normal checking account for paying for basic needs, but anything else is going to get invested, and his wealth will grow even when he's not "working."

It's people who don't know anything about money who will keep a large balance in their checking account for any length of time. That's foolish for a number of reasons.
