I would for my kid without a second thought. I don't know if I would for anyone else. Tough to say.

I would theoretically sacrifice myself for both a stranger & someone I know. But the situations are what matter the most. Here are just a few major factors I'd consider before doing so:

• Based on my own principles, I personally feel that it is an honorable way to go?
• Will it have a net positive impact on the world? Will humanity truly benefit more from me dying & them living?
• Did they willingly bring on the dangers they're presented with? If so, how likely are they to repeat the behaviors or inclinations?
• Is there a chance that neither of us could make it? Will my sacrifice be futile?
• If I survive, is there any chance that I could be severely reprimanded, imprisoned, or become a social out-cast in any way, shape, or form?

I have family and friends who wouldn't be happy if I died, so I have to think about them in the first place because I'm partially responsible for their well-being

so if we talk about strangers I wouldn't risk my life

if we talk about friends and family... it really depends... my kids just started their adult lives... I would risk mine to make them safe... my friend just became father... so it would be really wrong if his twins grow up without him around... my other friend has really sick mother and she has only him... so not saving him will end two lives... it's kind of emotional math...

we are not isolated islands... we have people who love us and care about us... so we have to consider also their feelings... having friends and family isn't only the fun stuff, it's also responsibility for those we let so close to us...

I’d need be, yes. This has been my way of life for all my adulthood. I would not throw my life away recklessly but wading into dangerous situations to bring calm, peace, and order or to protect life is absolutely part of the equation.

Currently only my mom, brother, cousins, and their kids for sure.

But if it's a child, I'd probably sacrifice for them too. The truth is, I probably wouldn't sacrifice myself for kids I thought were mentally ill though.
