Like would you take out the trash so your lover does not have to put up with the smells?

Would you do the difficult chores so your lover can do the easy chores?

Would you work and go to school so you can help build your future and not take it easy by just working or just doing schooling?

Would you exercise even if you did not have time to do that you can look more attractive for them?

I think the reason I’m single is that I did not try hard enough to make myself attractive, I worked hard at my career, but others worked harder than me.

All depends, yes I worked hard in my relationships. I did not necessarily do all the things you point out about but I did a lot of things and sacrificed a lot. But the other person to do their part as well. There are little things like taking out the trash... sure I would do that, but on the other hand if the smell is bothering them there should be no expectation. But by and large those are minor things. It really comes down to the important things you do and the important things you would like for them to do for you.

If taking out the trash is the most important thing they seem to care about then I would say they don't really respect or appreciate you. There will always be things that are not done, but how important are all those thing in the totality of the the things you do do and provide?

I mean I do exercise because its something I want to do for myself not because I feel I have to... with that said I like people who share some of the same values as I do. Once I start to feel like I am only doing something to do it for someone else, then I start to question how important it is to me. And if I am doing it just to make them happy then maybe that's not the best type of relationship for me when I see and want things that aren't being done either.

well i guess. i cook a two or three times a week for my Dad and Brother and wash the dishes and clean the kitchen and take care of the garden. I don't mind doing that stuff i guess cause i have the time. school is pretty easy so far and i only work three days a week so its fine. i'm okay with that

I sacrifice myself all the time doing chores around the house so my wife doesn't have too. I clean and wash things. I clean up after my kids all the time. I work more than 40 hrs a week to provide for her and my kids. As tired as I am. I still try to be there for her to remind her that she is loved and is beautiful after all the surgeries and meds. her mental health issues and her family rejecting us. I am here for her. The point is when you find that person it's easy to sacrifice your time your energy your self for them because you know it made them happy.

If I love someone I sacrifice what's needed, my life if required. That's my problem with relationships, I'm either all in or not bothering & never found a woman I wanted to invest that in although I thought I did once when I was younger. I've never committed to a relationship since. We're all works in progress in varying degrees. I've been focusing on working on myself, faith, & learning to love others in the meantime. Things are looking a lot brighter:) I'm a Venus in Cancer with a Pisces Moon. I know some Christians don't like the Zodiac but in my view it's part of His creation of order over chaos.

Yeah, definitely. To me, this is the easiest thing to do because of my personality oriented towards empathizing with people, especially those who are loved ones of mine. Naturally, I like to think I’m a rather selfless person, with a good portion of my life being evidence of that, so sacrificing something especially for those that I love will not be difficult.

I don’t know. My god daughter is turning into a little smart ass with a terrible attitude because of her living situation with her biological father and her new step siblings. But regardless of that, I still love her. She fell into a pond head first playing with a stick as a toddler while walking next to me. Even with my ailment, I didn’t hesitate, I Jackie Chan karate chopped the water like in the animated movie Mulan when they were stream fishing and pulled her up by her leg. Didn’t think about it, just reacted.

Those other things I do now anyway. No one else to do them for me.

Lol not going to do that because once people know that you are the giver and not receiver so they will always expect you to give even though sometimes in someways you want to recieve they would think it's unatural and wrong on your part bc you yourself created that image and they would take help from you and never help you even if you ask them

Only if the person is worth the sacrifice. Since the scenario is sacrificing yourself for your partner, I think that's fair. If you wouldn't do anything for your spouse, you're in the wrong relationship most likely.
