Is it normal to feel bad for inanimate objects?

I saw some stuffed animals left out in the rain and it made me feel sad and bothered. I rescued them out of the rain last night.

Also, whenever I was given a cookie that was decorated with a sweet image of a character, I didn't want to eat it. I would collect perishable gifts as a kid and store them.

Yes, I had an old piece of furniture from my grandparents house in my shed. I had it stored in the corner of the building under a tarp. A tree fell on the shed during the winder and it git smashed and it got rained on too. I had to take it to the dump but I kept the countertop and intend on using it for something else.

In this case yes because they were live animals once upon a time. People should not be doing that. However cookies are not live they are chocolate, sweets so that is rather weird.
