Depends on the context. If it matters, I call them out. If it doesn't matter, I distance myself from the person. If it's confrontational, I'll escalate, but that's bad advice to anyone that's afraid to get beat up.

Walk away. There's no reason to tolerate disrespect. Don't pick a fight, don't be in their face... just let them stew in their own ignorance. You have better things to do.

friends get simple, very straightforward information...
strangers, who just look for someone who will react and give them attention, are ignored
